Visitor FAQ's

  • What do you believe about the Bible
    • We believe the Bible is God’s inspired word to us. The Bible is our authority for our lives. We believe God speaks to us through the Bible, and the principles and precepts found in the Bible help us see our world and our lives through His eyes.
  • Do you have activities for youth?
    • In addition to our Bible-based Christian Education classes, we have monthly scheduled activities for teens (from 6th grade to 12th grade) including such things as youth rallies (Acquire the Fire), and our conference “Teen Slam,” as well as pool hops and lock-in over-nights. Our goal is to train teens to follow God’s ways as the path that leads to life in this dangerous world. We want teen to follow Christ now.
  • Do you have activities for children?
    • Our children participate in learning God’s Word from the beginning in our Christian Education classes. From early on in their lives, we want them to see the world God made, know their role in God’s plan, and come to Him for their salvation and greatest joy. We believe parents play the main role in shaping a child’s heart toward God, so the church can equip parents for these tasks. In addition, we have outreach events such as our Egg Hunt and Fall Festival and 5-Day Clubs where parents and children can learn about living for Christ.
  • Are you part of a denomination?
    • Yes, the Baptist General Conference is a group of about 1000 churches across the USA committed to furthering God’s Kingdom in our day. We support several BGC missionaries and have found our voluntary affiliation with the BGC fruitful. Our statement of faith matches that of the BGC.
  • Do you have activities for seniors?
    • We encourage our seniors to get involved in any aspect of the church’s ministry. There are no age restrictions to how a Christian participate in what God is doing at SPCC.
  • Do you speak in tongues or do faith-healing?
    • While we encourage all believers to grow closer to God in worship and recognize that God shows forth His grace in many forms, we also encourage people seeking to express certain “sign gifts” to either practice these gifts apart from our regular worship services, or attend a church where these expressions are expected.
